THE RUBETTES
FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER
PAVILION MID WALES
Don’t miss this rare opportunity in seeing one of the most iconic bands of the 70’s. The Pavilion is privileged to be hosting the Rubettes only appearance in the UK this year as part of their 50th anniversary European tour and the first since they last toured these shores in 2019. The Rubettes, after having achieved their first UK number one, with ‘Sugar Baby Love’, in 1974 by unceremoniously dislodging ABBA’s ‘Waterloo’ from the top spot after only one week, went on to produce many more international hits in the form of ‘Tonight’, Juke Box Jive’, I Can Do It’, Baby I know’ and the list goes on.
The Rubettes bring to the stage the unmistakeable image and 70’s sound, as can only be achieved with the trademark suits, caps and original lead vocals of Alan Williams, Rubettes front man since the beginning, still in place. As part of the Rubettes 2024 Christmas tour you can expect to hear a mix of all the hits, specially selected album tracks and some well-chosen seasonal songs from their current ‘Christmas Day’ album.
